Yufang Du Tightens Grip on World No. 3 With 4.36 Average
He improved his third-ranked world average by 0.01 seconds at Hangzhou Open 2026 and tied for eighth in the world with a 3.34 single.
Chinese speedcuber Yufang Du improved his 3x3 average personal best earlier today at Hangzhou Open 2026, recording a 4.36 average in the second round.
The result improves Yufang Du’s already third-ranked world average by 0.01 seconds, lowering his mark from 4.37 to 4.36. Yufang Du remains behind only Yiheng Wang and Xuanyi Geng in the global 3x3 average rankings.

Yufang Du also recorded a 3.34 single in the final, tying Ryan Pilat for eighth in the world for 3x3 single. The solve also moves him 0.05-second ahead of Bofan Zhang in the single rankings, while his new average gives him a 0.02-second edge over Bofan Zhang in the average rankings.
Yufang Du finished third in the final with a 4.60 average. Yiheng Wang won the event with a 4.42 average, while Xuanyi Geng placed second with a 4.53 average.
