Chinese cuber Xuanyi Geng has just set a new world record 3x3 time of 3.71 seconds at Deqing Small Special in Huzhou, China.
Geng clinched the new world record by recording a final solve of 2.80 seconds, which also marks the new Asian single solve record. Geng recorded just a single solve longer than 4 seconds: a non-counting 4.33 as his second attempt.
Joining Geng on the podium were Yiheng Wang in third place with an average of 4.62 and Bofan Zhang in second with an average of 4.38.
Zhang, who had a personal best average in this competition, also had a non-counting 3.39 as his fourth solve to mark his new personal best single, a significant improvement from his earlier 3.95.
Geng’s next competition will be on the weekend of May 1-2 at Start of Summer Beijing.
