Theo Goluboff lowered his South American one-handed single record to 6.03 seconds at Halloween en la Di Tella 2026 in Buenos Aires on October 25. He took 0.77 seconds off his previous mark of 6.80, set in 2024, and moved to sixth in the world.
The record came on his fourth solve of the final. His full round was 10.05, 10.29, 10.12, (6.03) and (12.13), giving him a winning 10.15 average. Only five competitors have recorded an official one-handed single under 6 seconds.
One-handed is just part of what makes Goluboff stand out in South America. At the 2026 South American Championship, he won five titles: 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7 and one-handed. He also finished second in 3x3 with a 6.26 average, behind only Caio Hideaki Sato at 6.11.
Goluboff has been winning continental titles for years. In 2022, he won 6x6 and reached five other podiums, including Megaminx and Square-1. In 2024, he won 5x5, 7x7 and one-handed, then defended all three titles in 2026 while adding 4x4 and reclaiming 6x6. Across those three championships, he collected nine titles and 16 podium finishes.
He left Halloween en la Di Tella with four wins, too. Alongside one-handed, he won 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5, and set an Argentine 4x4 average record of 23.99 in the first round.
