Zhaokun Li - WR3 3x3 Average
Zhaokun Li recorded a 4.34 3x3 average at Huanggang Open 2026, moving to third in the world for 3x3 average.
Li’s final-round average came from solves of (5.40), 3.88, 4.83, (3.72), and 4.30, finishing third in the round behind Xuanyi Geng and Yiheng Wang.
The result moves Li behind only Xuanyi Geng’s 3.71 world record average from Deqing Small & Special 2026 and Yiheng Wang’s 3.90 from Taizhou Open 2025.
Li entered the competition with a 4.59 personal record average, which already ranked sixth in the world. The 4.34 improves that mark by 0.25 seconds and moves him ahead of Yufang Du’s 4.36 from Hangzhou Open 2026.
The podium at Huanggang Open was especially strong. Xuanyi Geng won the final with a 4.15 average, while Yiheng Wang finished second with a 4.24. Li’s 4.34 made the event one of the deepest 3x3 podiums of all time.
More Than One Cube Shanghai - Nine 17-Move FMC Singles
More Than One Cube Shanghai 2026 produced one of the deepest Fewest Moves rounds in WCA history, with nine competitors recording 17-move singles in the 3x3 Fewest Moves final.
The 17-move results tied the Asian record for FMC single, a mark previously shared by Yiwei Liu and competitors from Indonesia and South Korea. Before the competition, only seven official 17-move singles had been recorded in WCA competition. More Than One Cube Shanghai 2026 added nine more in a single round, bringing the total to 16.
A reconstruction of one of the 17-move solves, by Nachuan Sun, is below.

Jibo Zhao and Weijie Jian won the event with matching 21.00 means. Zhao’s attempts were 22, 17, and 24 moves, while Jian’s were 24, 17, and 22 moves.
The round also made Yiwei Liu the first competitor with more than one official sub-18 FMC single. Liu previously held the Asian record with a 17 from Tianjin Summer Solstice 2021, and added another 17 at More Than One Cube Shanghai 2026.
The full list of 17-move singles from the final included Jibo Zhao, Weijie Jian, Qijun Miao, Yiwei Liu, Yongqiang Peng, Baiqiang Dong, Nachuan Sun, Tianze Xu, and Xiwen Ruan.
Luke Garrett - Sixth Straight Great Lakes 3x3 Title
Luke Garrett won the 3x3 title at CubingUSA Great Lakes Championship 2026, extending his Great Lakes Championship winning streak to six straight titles.
Garrett won the final with a 5.57 average, recording solves of (7.77), 6.45, (5.11), 5.13, and 5.14. His final three solves were his fastest of the average, allowing him to lock in late and pull away from the field.
Luke Griesser finished second with a 5.92 average, while Jack Pfeifer placed third with a 6.88.
Garrett has been tied to the event since its beginning. At the first CubingUSA Great Lakes Championship in 2018, Andy Denney won 3x3 with an 8.62 average, while Garrett finished second with an 8.64 average. Brian Johnson placed third with an 8.65, making the first Great Lakes podium separated by just 0.03 seconds.
Eight years later, Garrett has turned that narrow runner-up finish into one of the strongest regional championship streaks in the United States. The result also gives him another strong data point heading toward NAC, where he enters as one of the leading names to watch in 3x3.
Dylan Miller - PSL Langley Winner
Dylan Miller defeated Kyle Santucci at PSL Langley in Canada, earning his first PSL win over Santucci after dropping their first two meetings this season.
The final came down to the last solve of Set 5 in the first match of Grand Finals. Santucci recorded a 6.43, while Miller answered with a 5.66 to close out the match and win the event.
Watch the full stream below.
Miller entered Grand Finals with the bracket advantage after defeating Santucci earlier in the event. That meant Santucci needed to win two matches in Grand Finals to take the title, while Miller needed only one. Santucci worked his way back through the bracket to force the rematch, but Miller closed out the event in the opening Grand Finals match.
The result cuts Santucci’s head-to-head lead over Miller to 2-1. Santucci had won each of their first two PSL meetings, while both competitors had already qualified for the PSL Championship by winning separate Pro Tour events earlier this season.
If Miller and Santucci meet again at the PSL Championship, the season series will carry added weight after one of the closest finishes of the PSL season.
