The Weekend Wrap: June 12-14, 2026
A Southern Championship 3x3 upset, South American records, a back-to-back SAC Champ, and a near sub-15 3BLD average led the weekend.
Siddharth Reddy won GAN Southern Championship 2026, Theo Goluboff broke South America’s sub-2 7x7 mean barrier, Charles Daloz-Baltenberger pushed Europe closer to sub-15 in 3BLD, and Caio Hideaki Sato defended his South American 3x3 title.
Welcome back to the Speedcuber’s Digest Weekend Wrap, where we look at the most significant results and storylines from this past weekend.
Siddharth Reddy - GAN Southern 3x3 Champion
Siddharth Reddy won the 3x3 final at GAN Southern Championship 2026, recording a 6.23 average to take first place overall.
Reddy’s final-round solves were 6.20, 6.13, 6.35, (6.71), and (5.91). He finished just ahead of Matty Hiroto Inaba, who placed second with a 6.26 average, and defending Southern champion Dylan Miller, who finished third with a 6.81.
Inaba was eligible to win the competition overall, but because he is not from the Southern Region, he could not claim the Southern Championship title. Reddy’s win gave him both the overall 3x3 victory and the Southern Championship title.
Theo Goluboff - South America’s First Sub-2 7x7 Mean
Theo Goluboff became the first South American competitor to record a sub-2:00 7x7 mean, posting a 1:58.74 at WCA South American Championship 2026.
The Argentine speedcuber recorded the result in the final with solves of 1:58.45, 1:55.06, and 2:02.70. His 1:55.06 single was also a continental record.
Before this result, the South American 7x7 mean record stood at 2:04.15, also set by Goluboff earlier this year. At SAC, he improved that mark by more than five seconds.
Goluboff also won 5x5 and 6x6, recording a 45.71 average in 5x5 and a 1:18.66 continental record mean in 6x6.
Charles Daloz-Baltenberger - 15.06 European Record 3BLD Average
Charles Daloz-Baltenberger came close to one of 3x3 Blindfolded’s biggest milestones, recording a 15.06 European record average at Phalsbourg Saint Antoine 2026.
His average came from solves of 14.65, 15.12, 15.20, DNF, and 14.85. The result improves his own continental record and leaves Europe just 0.07 seconds away from its first officially recognized sub-15 3BLD average.
Daloz-Baltenberger’s current 3BLD personal bests now stand at 13.22 single and 15.06 average, ranking him No. 1 in France for both and No. 1 in Europe for average.
Jens Haber finished second in the round with a 17.65 German national record average, giving the event two major record-level results at the top of the standings.
Caio Hideaki Sato - Back-to-Back South American 3x3 Champion
Caio Hideaki Sato defended his South American 3x3 title at WCA South American Championship 2026, winning the final with a 6.11 average.
The Brazilian speedcuber edged out Argentina’s Theo Goluboff, who finished second with a 6.26 average. Juan Miguel Saboya Soto of Colombia rounded out the podium with a 6.58 average.
Sato’s final included counting solves of 6.26, 5.91, and 6.17, plus a 5.61 single that stood as his best solve of the round.
The result matched the 6.11 average he used to win the South American title in 2024, giving him back-to-back continental 3x3 championships.
With two straight South American crowns, Sato continues to build one of the strongest 3x3 résumés in the region.
