In Episode 21, Michael Rosenkranz chats with John Eppley to talk about his journey from a competitor in the Michigan scene to a key figure in the media and broadcasting space of speedcubing.
John opened up to us about the history of SpeedcubingTV, going from livestreaming local competitions out of nowhere to having more than 11,000 people watching the 3x3 world championship final in 2025. We also chatted about Plus Three, Speedcubers Digest, John’s broadcasting philosophy, and the vision for an “ESPN of speedcubing” that would give the sport and community the exposure it truly needs and deserves.
Outside of his work with SpeedcubingTV, we also talked about The Compound, the brainchild of John’s and team’s dreams to come together and build something truly special for the speedcubing community.
