In Episode 18 Michael Rosenkranz sits down with the founder of SpeedcubingTv -Matthew Mayernik.
We discuss his Michigan upbringing and how cubing has helped send Matthew to places doesn’t think he’d have otherwise got to. Matthew recounts the tale of how he landed a paid sports broadcasting gig on his first week at college even though he was prepared to do it for free. We also get the discuss his appearance in GAWNEs “This Is War” music video where he got to solve cubes alongside the rapper. He also reflects on the connections that come with being a part of the cubing community from being at the World Championship to getting in contacts at ESPN and how he’s grateful for where the community has taken him.
