Qixian Cao Sets Women's 3x3 World Record Average
Cao records a 4.68 average at Start of Summer Beijing 2026, moving to seventh in the world overall

Qixian Cao set a new women’s 3x3 world record average at Start of Summer Beijing 2026, recording a 4.68 average in the second round.
Cao’s average came from solves of (5.41), 4.57, (4.31), 4.63, and 4.84. The result improves on her previous women’s world record average of 4.95.
The 4.68 average moves Cao from 13th to seventh in the overall 3x3 average rankings. It places her ahead of North American record holder Matty Hiroto Inaba, who has a 4.72 average, and just behind Tymon Kolasiński, who has a 4.67 average.
Start of Summer Beijing 2026 also featured Timofei Tarasenko’s 21.85 Megaminx world record single, improving on his previous record of 21.99.

Yunzhi Lian also recorded a 3.94 3x3 single at the competition, her first official sub-4 single. The result moved her into the top 10 in the world for 3x3 single. Lian is currently ranked second in the women’s rankings for both 3x3 single and average.
At the time of posting, the 3x3 semifinals are just ending at Start of Summer Beijing 2026. The competition field also includes Xuanyi Geng, Yiheng Wang, Yize Dong, Zhaokun Li, Timofei Tarasenko, Ruihang Xu, and more, leaving additional record watch through the remainder of the event.
