Welcome to Season 3 of Plus Three, SpeedcubingTV’s weekly podcast covering the biggest stories, moments, and conversations across the cubing community.
In S3 Episode 21, hosts John Eppley, Manu Singhal, and Matthew Mayernik (filling in for Zach Ridall) talk about the US Nationals in San Antonio. Luke Garrett, Patrick Ponce, or some combination of Luke Griesser, Luke Garrett, and Dylan Miller could be the story for the US Nationals next year, and all three hosts can't agree on which. From there the convo turns to Timofei, who just incredibly took Max Park's 7x7 world record mean, a mark that stood for 8 years since 2018, resulting a discussion of what that means for the Cuber of the Year race. They close out arguing over whether US Nationals should stay closed to Americans or let international competitors like Timofei in.
