North American Championship Podium
🥇 Max Park (United States) - 1:08.64
🥈 Henry Lichner (United States) - 1:16.71
🥉 Matty Hiroto Inaba (United States) - 1:19.86
The competition opened with immediate pace, as Arhaan Sareen set the early benchmark with a 1:13.76 on solve one, briefly establishing momentum at the top of the standings. Max responded even stronger with a 1:08.04, immediately taking the lead. Outside of the top contenders, no other competitor managed to break 1:19, separating the podium battle from the rest of the field early on.
For most of the round, the standings remained tight but stable until a dramatic shift on the final solves. Henry Lichner delivered an incredibly clutch 1:08.71 on his third solve, jumping into second place at the last possible moment and shaking up the podium race.
Arhaan’s final solve proved costly, as he posted a 1:27.10 on solve three. Observers noted he stopped the timer slowly, which may have indicated hesitation or a defeated mindset that may have cost him a higher placement.
Further down the standings, Jack Pfeifer narrowly missed out on third place after suffering a PLL parity on his final attempt, opening the door for Matty Hiroto Inaba to claim the bronze medal.
Inaba’s performance was highlighted after the event, where he reflected on both his personal record single and mean. He said he “caught fire in finals” and delivered the unexpected when it mattered most. He also noted that he is looking ahead to 3×3 tomorrow, where he will be fighting for another North American Championship title.
Park’s victory reinforces his continued dominance in big cube events, while Lichner’s last-solve surge and Inaba’s breakout bronze highlight a final defined by clutch performances and late-round volatility.
