Max Park Extends Western Championship Reign to Eight Straight Titles
Park defeated Zerui Cheng 3-1 in the first Western Championship head-to-head final, continuing a title streak that dates back to 2018.
American speedcuber Max Park won the 3x3 head-to-head title at West Coast Cubing Western Championship 2026, defeating Zerui Cheng 3-1 in the final.
The event marked the first time Western Championships used a head-to-head format to decide the 3x3 champion, with Park claiming the inaugural title.
The victory also extends Park’s Western Championship winning streak to eight consecutive years, dating back to 2018, the season following his 2017 World Championship victory in France.

Cheng reached the final after upsetting Dylan Miller in the semifinals, preventing a highly anticipated Park versus Miller championship matchup. Miller later recovered to defeat Brendyn Dunagan in the third-place match.
The competition featured one of the deepest fields of the season, with Park, Cheng, Miller, and Dunagan all entering as major contenders. Cheng’s semifinal victory over Miller stood out as the biggest surprise of the bracket, but Park controlled the championship match to become the first competitor to win a Western Championship through the new head-to-head format.
