Hrishikesh Kakati broke two Indian Pyraminx records Saturday at Benicia Open II 2026.
Kakati started with a 1.57 average in the first round, taking the Indian national record with solves of 1.41, 1.46, (1.27), 1.85 and (3.77).
He followed that up in the final with a 0.94 single, breaking his own national record of 0.98. That previous record had stood since Dublin California Open 2025.
The final itself was less consistent, with a DNF contributing to a 2.52 average, but the 0.94 gave Kakati his second national record of the day.
Kakati entered the competition already ranked No. 1 in India for Pyraminx single. He now leaves Benicia with both the Indian single and average records.
“I’ve been aiming for this for about a year now, and I’m so happy to finally have both national records for Pyraminx,” Kakati told Speedcuber’s Digest.
