Feliks Zemdegs Achieves New PR 3x3 Single
The solve was his first 3x3 single PR to not also be a WR or an OcR.
Australian speedcubing world champion Feliks Zemdegs set a new personal best 3x3 single earlier today, recording a 4.12 on his first solve of the second round at Spark Melbourne Autumn Saturday 2026.
The result is notable not only because it improves Zemdegs’ personal best, but because it marks a rare milestone in one of speedcubing’s most accomplished careers. It is the first time Zemdegs has set a 3x3 single personal best that did not also stand as either a world record or an Oceanic record at the time. Zemdegs has competed in the WCA since 2009 and has spent much of his career at or near the top of the global 3x3 rankings.

Zemdegs finished third overall in the competition with a 6.48 average. David Epstein placed second with a 6.45 average, while Riley Dexter won the event with a 6.40 average.
The podium was separated by just 0.08 seconds, making it one of the closest 3x3 finals of the weekend. Zemdegs’ single still stood out as the headline result, adding another note to a career already filled with records, titles, and historic solves.
