Dean Jacob Adamo Susskind Wins Skewb at NAC 2026 with Career-Best Performance
PR average, emotional celebration, and a surprise national title cap an unforgettable final.
Dean Jacob Adamo Susskind captured the North American Skewb title in one of the most emotional finishes of NAC 2026, posting a career-best 1.77 average to earn the biggest victory of his career.
The final remained wide open through four solves, with Dean holding a narrow lead over the field. Meanwhile, pre-event contender Carter Kucala fell out of contention after an inconsistent round, leaving the stage visibly disappointed as the title slipped away.
Needing only a clean final solve to secure the championship, Dean delivered under pressure with a 2.01. As the timer stopped, he immediately celebrated with a fist bump, knowing he had locked in a personal best average, but not yet sure that he had won it all - yet.

North American Championship Podium
🥇 Dean Jacob Adamo Susskind (United States) - 1.77 Average (PR)
🥈 Zayn Khanani (United States) - 1.99 Average
🥉 Sid Shivnath (United States) - 2.18 Average
Zayn Khanani finished with a 1.99 average to earn the silver medal after an otherwise strong final was hurt by a final solve of 4.06.
The battle for bronze came down to the final competitor. Canada’s William Lavoie needed a 2.42 or better on his last attempt to move onto the podium, but a 2.48 left him just short. The result elevated Sid Shivnath into third place with a 2.18 average, while William was in fourth with a 2.20.
As soon as the standings became official, Sid erupted in celebration with friends, including his West Coast training group. Dean, also from the West Coast and clearly in disbelief, joined the celebration with Sid. He then turned to his family in the crowd, who had gathered in force to watch his breakthrough performance.
After the win, Dean said earning a personal best average and the North American title felt unreal. He admitted he never expected to win the event, but said a strong semifinal round gave him confidence, and he was able to carry that momentum into the final when it mattered most.
