David Andron-Silva Captures Pyraminx Title at NAC 2026
After a heartbreaking runner-up finish at U.S. Nationals, Andron-Silva delivered when it mattered most, backed by the support of his family.
David Andron-Silva is the North American Pyraminx champion.
The American claimed the NAC 2026 title with a 1.95-second average, edging Michael Nielsen’s 1.97 in one of the closest finals of the weekend. Kyle Meade rounded out the podium in third with a 2.14 average.
Just one year after finishing second at U.S. Nationals, Andron-Silva said a costly lock-up was the difference between winning and falling just short. This time, he left nothing to chance.
After the final, Andron-Silva credited his preparation, saying he practices competition simulations every day. While he described the final as unpredictable, he said he was able to pull everything together when it counted.

He also gave an emotional shoutout to his parents, who were cheering from the audience. They told SpeedcubingTV that before the pandemic they had never even heard of speedcubing, but have since fallen in love with the community while supporting their son’s passion. Watching him become North American champion made the journey even more meaningful.
The event also saw an early exit from fan favorite Parker Trager, who recorded a DNF average, opening the door other competitors. Two years ago, Andrew Mao won the North American title with a spectacular 1.92 North American Record average in the 2024 final.
