Daniel Partridge First UK Cuber to Break 1.50 Pyraminx Average Barrier
Partridge’s 1.45 average at Darlington Spring 2026 set a new UK national record and moved him to second in Europe and eighth in the world.

Daniel Partridge became the first UK competitor to officially break the 1.50 Pyraminx average barrier at Darlington Spring 2026, recording a new national record average of 1.45 in the final.
Partridge’s average came from solves of 1.47, (1.32), 1.43, 1.46, and (2.64). The result moves him to second in Europe and eighth in the world for Pyraminx average.
The result was especially notable because Partridge had a best possible average of 1.40 going into the final solve, which would have moved him to fifth in the world. His final solve instead became the dropped worst time of the average. Because his three counting times were tightly grouped at 1.47, 1.43, and 1.46, the swing was not dramatic, but it still cost him several spots in the world rankings.
The previous UK record, a 1.52 average set at Stevenage June 2024, had stood for nearly two years.
Partridge also holds UK national records in 6x6 single and 7x7 single and mean, continuing to establish himself as one of the United Kingdom’s strongest all-around speedcubers.
