Bofan Zhang Achieves 4.38 Average, Moves to World No. 4
He moved to Top 8 in the World with a single time of 3.39.

While the spotlight at Deqing Small Special in Huzhou, China, went to Xuanyi Geng’s world record, Bofan Zhang delivered a major result of his own.
Zhang placed second with a PR 4.38 average, which now ranks fourth in the world. His times were 4.47, 4.86, (5.37), (3.39), and 3.80. All five solves featured ZBLS into ZBLL. This placed him above CFOP user Yiheng Wang in the competition, a rare feat in their 27 competitions attended together.
Within that average, Zhang recorded a PR 3.39 single, moving him to #8 globally in the 3x3 single rankings. The solve improves on his previous best of 3.95.
This result marks a strong bounce back from Worlds in Seattle 2025, where Zhang notably missed the final. It also comes in his first competition since Xuzhou Open 2025 on November 16, ending a roughly six-month gap between appearances.
