Blindfolded Ambition Teaser Reveals Feature-Length Documentary on Three BLD Legends
The planned 2027 documentary follows the quests of Graham Siggins, Rowe Hessler, and Stanley Chapel for blindfolded greatness.
Blindfolded Ambition has released the first teaser for its upcoming feature-length documentary, expected to run approximately 90 minutes and release in 2027.
Watch the teaser:
The film will follow Graham Siggins, Rowe Hessler, and Stanley Chapel, exploring the training, pressure, and commitment behind elite blindfolded speedcubing.
Together, the three competitors have recorded 40 world records and achieved major accomplishments across multiple generations of the sport.
The teaser also introduces each competitor beyond the solving table, showing Hessler lifting weights, Chapel playing violin, and Siggins skateboarding.
These moments suggest the documentary will focus not only on their results, but also on the personalities, routines, and interests behind their competitive careers.
“I’m a cubing parent - that’s how I got into this project,” filmmaker Michael Greco told Speedcuber’s Digest. “The blindfolded side of the sport has always fascinated me, and about 18 months ago I decided to give this a shot.”
Greco said the project evolved as he spent more time with the featured competitors.
“I thought I was making a film about cubing, and I am, but meeting Graham, Rowe, and Stanley really changed the direction of this project. Getting to know them beyond what people see at competitions or on socials has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. They are three extraordinary human beings, and it’s been an honor to really get to know them.”
By placing their lives outside cubing alongside their competitive pursuits, the project appears positioned to tell a broader story about discipline, identity, ambition, and the psychological demands of elite blindfolded solving.
